MONEY PROTOCOL FOR NO NEW JAILS NYC
We won’t ever take money from an organization or donor who demands steering influence over our work. All money raised and accepted through donations will go toward the work we as NNJ have decided to do independently of what donors want us to do. This also goes for fiscal sponsorship.
We honor the contributions that comes from our communities who give as working class people. We practice this by cycling any returned bail funds into the community is they are returned to us.
We honor the dedication, care, and love that goes into this. We practice this by working in integrity and transparency to our community through sharing back what we’ve used money for, provide updates, and using our platform to have our community tell their own stories.
We honor the work of our fellow movements. We practice this by supporting rapid response and capacity of others aligned organizations.
We honor the guidance of our ancestors and continue to learn from them. We practice this by being fiscally sponsored by Highlander Research and Education Center.
